EV Market Share: Austria

In June 2026, the automotive market in Austria recorded a total of 34,256 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 26.3% of the market share. This represents a volume of 8,993 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 3.9 percentage points (from 22.4% in 2025-06).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 11.8% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 38.0% of all new car sales in Austria for this period.
