EV Market Share: Austria

In March 2026, the automotive market in Austria recorded a total of 33,018 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 24.9% of the market share. This represents a volume of 8,206 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 1.3 percentage points (from 23.6% in 2025-03).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 9.6% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 34.4% of all new car sales in Austria for this period.
