EV Market Share: Hungary

In June 2026, the automotive market in Hungary recorded a total of 15,096 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 10.3% of the market share. This represents a volume of 1,561 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has declined by 1.0 percentage points (from 11.4% in 2025-06).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 9.0% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 19.4% of all new car sales in Hungary for this period.
