EV Market Share: France

In February 2026, the automotive market in France recorded a total of 200,586 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 16.3% of the market share. This represents a volume of 32,604 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 6.1 percentage points (from 10.2% in 2025-02).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 3.3% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 19.6% of all new car sales in France for this period.
