EV Market Share: Italy

In September 2026, the automotive market in Italy recorded a total of 139,166 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 7.6% of the market share. This represents a volume of 10,552 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 2.7 percentage points(from 4.9% in 2025-08).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 11.2% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 18.8% of all new car sales in Italy for this period.
