EV Market Share: Romania

In June 2026, the automotive market in Romania recorded a total of 16,120 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 9.3% of the market share. This represents a volume of 1,496 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 5.6 percentage points (from 3.7% in 2025-06).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 54.3% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 63.6% of all new car sales in Romania for this period.
