EV Market Share: Spain

In January 2026, the automotive market in Spain recorded a total of 73,103 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 8.9% of the market share. This represents a volume of 6,472 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 4.3 percentage points (from 4.6% in 2024-07).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 12.0% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 20.8% of all new car sales in Spain for this period.
