EV Market Share: Spain

In March 2026, the automotive market in Spain recorded a total of 130,340 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 9.1% of the market share. This represents a volume of 11,863 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 3.4 percentage points (from 5.7% in 2024-10).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 11.4% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 20.5% of all new car sales in Spain for this period.
