EV Market Share: Spain

In September 2026, the automotive market in Spain recorded a total of 93,858 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 18.5% of the market share. This represents a volume of 17,366 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 7.0 percentage points(from 11.5% in 2025-08).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 15.5% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 34.0% of all new car sales in Spain for this period.
