EV Market Share: Sweden

In February 2026, the automotive market in Sweden recorded a total of 19,904 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 38.6% of the market share. This represents a volume of 7,686 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 4.3 percentage points (from 34.3% in 2025-02).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 24.9% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 63.5% of all new car sales in Sweden for this period.
