EV Market Share: Sweden

In September 2026, the automotive market in Sweden recorded a total of 29,791 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 47.3% of the market share. This represents a volume of 14,096 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 10.4 percentage points(from 36.9% in 2025-09).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 21.3% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 68.7% of all new car sales in Sweden for this period.
