EV Market Share: Sweden

In April 2026, the automotive market in Sweden recorded a total of 25,031 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 39.5% of the market share. This represents a volume of 9,886 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 5.4 percentage points (from 34.1% in 2025-04).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 23.3% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 62.8% of all new car sales in Sweden for this period.
