EV Market Share: Latvia

In January 2026, the automotive market in Latvia recorded a total of 1,510 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 6.6% of the market share. This represents a volume of 99 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has declined by 1.1 percentage points (from 7.7% in 2024-12).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 10.8% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 17.4% of all new car sales in Latvia for this period.
