EV Market Share: Denmark

In January 2026, the automotive market in Denmark recorded a total of 12,802 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 82.9% of the market share. This represents a volume of 10,618 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 21.4 percentage points (from 61.6% in 2024-12).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 1.1% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 84.0% of all new car sales in Denmark for this period.
