EV Market Share: Belgium

In March 2026, the automotive market in Belgium recorded a total of 43,733 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 35.8% of the market share. This represents a volume of 15,661 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 1.6 percentage points (from 34.2% in 2024-08).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 5.5% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 41.3% of all new car sales in Belgium for this period.
