EV Market Share: Belgium

In January 2026, the automotive market in Belgium recorded a total of 32,997 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 36.8% of the market share. This represents a volume of 12,131 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 9.1 percentage points (from 27.6% in 2024-06).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 6.3% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 43.0% of all new car sales in Belgium for this period.
