EV Market Share: Belgium

In September 2026, the automotive market in Belgium recorded a total of 32,124 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 50.9% of the market share. This represents a volume of 16,341 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 16.1 percentage points(from 34.8% in 2025-08).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 6.3% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 57.1% of all new car sales in Belgium for this period.
