EV Market Share: Ireland

In March 2026, the automotive market in Ireland recorded a total of 15,413 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 24.8% of the market share. This represents a volume of 3,829 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 10.2 percentage points (from 14.7% in 2025-03).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 14.7% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 39.5% of all new car sales in Ireland for this period.
