EV Market Share: Finland

In January 2026, the automotive market in Finland recorded a total of 5,462 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 45.9% of the market share. This represents a volume of 2,505 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 8.8 percentage points (from 37.1% in 2024-12).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 14.4% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 60.3% of all new car sales in Finland for this period.
