EV Market Share: Germany

In September 2026, the automotive market in Germany recorded a total of 197,419 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 44.9% of the market share. This represents a volume of 88,599 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 19.3 percentage points(from 25.5% in 2025-09).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 14.0% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 58.9% of all new car sales in Germany for this period.
