EV Market Share: Germany

In February 2026, the automotive market in Germany recorded a total of 161,410 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 28.7% of the market share. This represents a volume of 46,275 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 5.9 percentage points (from 22.8% in 2025-02).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 15.1% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 43.7% of all new car sales in Germany for this period.
