EV Market Share: Bulgaria

In September 2026, the automotive market in Bulgaria recorded a total of 4,193 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 13.6% of the market share. This represents a volume of 569 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 8.5 percentage points(from 5.0% in 2025-08).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 7.8% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 21.4% of all new car sales in Bulgaria for this period.
