EV Market Share: Bulgaria

In March 2026, the automotive market in Bulgaria recorded a total of 4,481 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 7.8% of the market share. This represents a volume of 349 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 2.4 percentage points (from 5.4% in 2025-03).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 1.8% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 9.6% of all new car sales in Bulgaria for this period.
