EV Market Share: Bulgaria

In January 2026, the automotive market in Bulgaria recorded a total of 3,218 new registrations. The adoption of electric vehicles continues to evolve, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) capturing 5.7% of the market share. This represents a volume of 182 full-electric cars registered this month.

Compared to the same period last year, the BEV market share has grown by 1.5 percentage points (from 4.1% in 2024-12).

Looking at the broader picture, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) achieved a 1.4% share. Combined, plug-in vehicles (BEV + PHEV) account for 7.1% of all new car sales in Bulgaria for this period.
